Spicy French Fries Using an Airfryer

Potato French Fries are an all time favorite. This versatile dish can be eaten on its own as a snack or as a side dish with burgers, steak, grilled chicken etc. Fries are generally served with dips like tomato ketchup, mayonnaise, gravy or even topped with cheese. So how about some spicy french fries. French fries are traditionally done by deep frying in hot oil. Here we use an Airfryer to fry them. Using an Airfryer to cook French Fries contains up to 80 percent less fat than fries done using hot oil.

The recipe given over here uses the two stage method of first boiling the potato strips (or blanching) and then cooking them in the airfryer. The first step ensures that surface starch from the potatoes are removed. The potatoes are then drained of all water in a colander and then by pat drying them in a towel. The cooking time given here is a guide as the cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the potato strips and the type of potatoes used. The quantity of spices like chilli powder and pepper powder can be reduced to suit your tolerance to these spices.
